Spain and Portugal

Spain and Portugal are set apart from the rest of Europe. Their cultures differ from the rest of Europe. Their history is related to other Mediterranean countries such as Italy. It also has a lot in common with North African countries more than with its own continent. Spain and Portugal have cultures that are distinct from their neighbors in Europe because their geography isolates them.

The mainland countries of Europe such as France, and Germany, for example have very similar cultures and history. Spain and Portugal share histories and culture, but just some with the rest of Europe.

The geography of Spain isolates it and Portugal. The Pyrenees Mountains are very difficult to navigate and block Spain and Portugal from the rest of Europe. They even create a type of wall that affect the affect the climate. S¬pain and Portugal form a peninsula. Spain’s cliffs block easy travel along its coast. It has some of the highest temperatures in Europe.
